German Idioms and Tongue Twisters with the letter U

Following on from last month’s blog post about German Idioms and Tongue Twisters with the letter T, here are some more, this time with the letter U:

Übung macht den Meister.
Practice makes perfect.

Unter dem Pantoffel stehen
To be under the thumb

Sie stecken unter einer Decke.
They are in cahoots.

„Ich bring dich um die Ecke!“
“I’m going to kill you!”

Über den Tellerrand schauen
To see the bigger picture
