Today we’re covering German sentences you might need or hear while spotting trees in Germany.

Das ist eine Lärche. Die Nadeln fallen im Herbst ab.
That’s a larch. Its needles fall off in autumn.
Dieser Wald hier besteht fast nur aus Kiefern.
The forest here consists almost entirely of pine trees.
Die Birken erkennt man gut an der weißen Rinde.
You can easily recognise the birch trees by their white bark.
Der Ahorn hat Blätter wie auf der kanadischen Flagge.
The maple has leaves like those on the Canadian flag.
Die Kastanienbäume blühen gerade.
The chestnut trees are in bloom right now.
Das ist eine Buche, erkennst du die glatte Rinde?
That’s a beech tree, do you recognise the smooth bark?
Die Eiche hat dicke, knorrige Äste.
The oak tree has thick, gnarled branches.
Da ist ein Spechtloch im Stamm.
There’s a woodpecker hole in the trunk.

What can you do with these sentences to remember them?
You can bookmark this post or make a vocabulary list with them. You can do that with any paper or electronic notebook. Or you could buy my notebook which I designed specially for German vocab learners. It has space for vocabulary lists and sentences. You can even choose one of two colours 😉
Each notebook has space for 25 topics and each topic has 4 pages, 1 is blank, 1 is for your vocabulary list and 2 are for sentences. So you could copy the sentences from this post and add any individual words to the vocab list (like: die Lärche – larch). There is also lots of space for you to add any of your own sentences.
