Last night, despite horrendous weather, 24 students and friends joined me for an evening of German Christmas Carol singing. No, that’s not quite true, at some stage there were 27, as we were joined via Skype by my mother, brother and nephew from Schüttorf in Germany:
The event happened for several reasons:
– our joined love for the German language
– it’s nearly Christmas and a good reason to have some fun together
– and to raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance
So, a HUGE Thank You to everybody who came, brought food, donated money and sang beautifully (or mimed beautifully 😉 ), also a big Thank You to Al Summers, who accompanied us wonderfully on his guitar.
Oh, and we raised £74.03 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance!
For those who couldn’t make it, I recorded two songs. Unfortunately you can’t see (or hear) the singing from the laptop, but we all know they sang with us.
Thank you, everybody, and Merry Christmas – frohe Weihnachten!
…and a wonderful Christmas to you too, Angelika, and thank you for making learning German such a delight. Onwards and upwards for more of the same in 2014!
Thank you, Suze, and for you, too!
