If you are looking for resources to improve your German reading or writing, you’ll find lots of websites, many of them free.
The website I like to introduce you to today is purely for listening and it’s lovely – and free. The activities are for listening, but the site is in German, so you can practise your reading as well ☺
Deutsch to Go belongs to two German teachers, who have been teaching at schools, colleges and universities.
The listening exercises come in three categories, einfach (easy) – mittel (medium) – schwer (difficult).
Sadly, the easy section is not for beginners. You need to have reached A2 of the Common European Framework. But if you’ve been learning German for quite a while and would like to improve your listening with some exercises, you should try them out.
So, what do you get?
3 categories
The following are screenshots from three different exercises with the links to those exercises. I’ve taken the latest ones from each category which, of course, won’t be the latest ones soon as they add new exercises every week.
Easy (A2)
When you click on the image it will take you to the actual exercise. As you can see, you can listen to the text, download a PDF with the transcript (if you feel you need it), and complete some exercises.

Medium (B1/2)
Again, click on the image to be taken to the exercise.

Hard (C1/2)

You can also choose by topic. So far they have the following topics (again, a click on the image will take you there)

You can also subscribe to their newsletter. Then you’ll always know when there is something new. Go to DEUTSCH-TO-GO.DE, have a play around and then come back here and tell me what you think.
