Grammar lesson – the German informal plural you

Grammar lesson - the German informal plural you

In the last few weeks various students from different groups  mentioned to me that they were struggling with the informal plural you, or as I like to call it ‘you lot’ (you wouldn’t say that to business clients when you need the formal you).

Some of my students seem to forget how to conjugate verbs with ‘ihr’ even if they can do all the other forms. Other struggle with ‘yours’ or how to use ‘ihr’ with a reflexive verb. I guess, it’s because textbooks for adults put so much emphasis on the formal you and not so much on the informal you.

So I’ve tried to put it all together in a slide show and hope it makes sense and makes you all realise that it’s actually a lot easier than you thought!
