When it comes to classical composers, most people have heard of Johann Sebastian Bach, and as he was German and his birthday would have been today, I thought I write a little post about him.
Johann Sebastian Bach was born on the 31st March 1685 in Eisenach, Germany. Actually, he was born on the 21st March but that date comes from the old Gregorian calendar, in today’s calendar it’s the 31st. He was the eighth son of a very musical family and died on the 28th July 1750. I could write more but it is just as easy for you to read about him on wikipedia …. if you want to read about him in English.
If, however, you’d like to practise your German while finding out more about Bach, have a look at this German music lexicon for children.
If, on the other hand, you’d just like to listen to some classical music, I’ll leave you with some videos:
Do you have any favourite music by Bach?
And do you use (or would you like to) the lyrics to improve your German?
My notebook might be useful: Music Journal For German Learners: An 8.5 by 11 inches journal for those who want to use German songs to improve their German

Or, if you prefer something digital instead of pen and paper, you might like to buy my Trello board.
