German authors: Friedrich Schiller

“Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller (10 November 1759 – 9 May 1805) was a German poet, playwright, historian, philosopher, and physician. Schiller is considered by most Germans to be Germany’s most important classical playwright.” (Quote Wikipedia)

So I’ve searched the internet to see if I could find some information about Schiller in German for you and I did, some easy, some not so easy.

This video gives you a tour of Schiller’s house (aimed at German children, so a little easier commentary)

And if you’d like to learn more about him, but in English, watch this video:

If you’d like to read one or more of his poems, you can find them here: Friedrich Schiller – Gedichte

Or have a look at some of his quotes: Zitate und Sprüche von Friedrich Schiller

I’ll leave you with one of his quotes which is quite appropriate for German learners 😊

Früh übt sich, was ein Meister werden will.
‘Tis early practice only makes the master. (Quote from Schiller’s Wilhelm Tell)
