I sometimes get asked for recommendations for books designed for German learners, which students could take with them on holidays. I always fancied writing my own stories but whether that will ever happen, who knows…..
So in the meantime I had a look on Amazon to see what’s available. The following links are affiliate links, which means if you decide to buy one of the suggestions I get a few pence from Amazon’s profit. Of course, if you want them as paperback books you can buy or order them in any bookshop, but one advantage of Amazon is the ‘Look Inside’ feature. Have a look at my suggestions, but make sure you do ‘look inside’ to ensure the book is right for your German level.
These books are in the ‘this book I found first’ order 😉 They all follow a similar format: a short story, some vocabulary, and some questions about the story. They are perfect for those of you who are bored with their textbooks but find ‘real’ German books still a little too difficult.
So, have a look to see if those books are any good to you, look inside and read a few pages (make sure you look inside the Kindle versions as they show more) and any other information which might be useful to you.
If you decide to buy a book or two or the kindle version, enjoy reading them, especially when on holidays!
And, please, let me know afterwards what you thought of the book.

My favourite easy readers are the ones by Angelika Bohn https://www.amazon.co.uk/Angelika-Bohn/e/B00L7F0QLA
Interesting, thanks. I’ve heard of her but thought she wrote for German teenagers, not for people learning German. Her books are slightly different to the ones I mentioned as everything is in German, so this might be an idea for another blog post one day 😉
