Today’s blog post is not about a famous German composer, but he was a German speaking composer.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (full name Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart) was born on 27 January 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. His birthplace (Geburtshaus) is now a museum. If you’d like to find out more about it, the museum has a website in German and also in English.
I also found an interesting video about the road where the house is
If you find this video too difficult you can also watch it with a translation
The following video is an advert for a book for children, but it describes parts of Mozart’s life beautifully. Do watch it, no matter whether you might be interested in the book or not:
If you’d like to read more about him, Wikipedia has a huge article in German and English. Or read this beautiful, but a lot easier text written by a German primary school pupil about Mozart
You can always listen to his music while you’re reading.
Alternatively, join the challenge and DON’T hum this tune for the rest of the day. Ooops, too late ☺
