What sort of presents are you expecting this Christmas? Anything that can help you learn German?
At our German Carol singing event I asked my students to sing one final song – just for me and just for fun – and after I promised they didn’t have to do any homework over Christmas, they did 😆
Here are all those “items” again:
1 German textbook to see
2 types of you (Du & Sie)
3 words for ‘the’ (der, die, das)
4 German cases (nominative, accusative, dative, genitive)
5 modal verbs (müssen, sollen, können, dürfen, wollen)
6 different tenses (present, perfect, imperfect, pluperfect, future 1, future 2)
7 possesive adjectives (mein, dein, sein, ihr, unser, euer, ihr)
8 dative prepositions (aus, außer, mit, nach, bei, seit, von, zu)
9 dual prepositions (an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen)
10 most used conjunctions (und, dass, als, oder, aber, wenn, weil, denn, sondern, obwohl)
11 question words (wer, wie, was, wo, wohin, warum, wieso, weshalb, wem, wen, wann)
12 most used verbs (sein, haben, werden, können, müssen, wollen, mögen, wissen, machen, sollen, heißen, sagen)
This is my last blog post for 2014 as I’m going to have a blogging break over Christmas.
So, Merry Christmas – frohe Weihnachten – and may you have many German textbooks to see 😉
