Practise your German with Google Now and Google Maps

Last week I watched this wonderful video from German teacher Herr Antrim about using Google on your Android Phone for practising your German. I won’t repeat everything as his video says it all, so here it is:

Great stuff, isn’t it?

But I’d like to add something else you can do with Google. If you have Google maps installed you can use your satnav for practising your directions.

First you need to change the language. On your phone, go to ‘Settings’, then ‘Language’ and change the language to ‘Deutsch’. Now Google thinks you are German ☺

Chose a car journey where you wouldn’t need satnav because you know the route really well. Now you can listen to the voice telling you to turn left or right in German!

Try it and let me know how you got on!

“Ok Google, wie komme ich nach …. ?” ☺
